Your Body is a Temple - Not a Crack House

The old adage that you should treat your body like a temple? This is true shit.

Last night I treated myself with all the respect of a crack house.

The last "healthy" thing that I did was to have a small bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats at 4:00 pm. And it all went downhill from there.

If you read yesterday, last night was the premiere of Eclipse, and Fat Girl Slim, me and a few other girlies all went to the triple feature. Twilight at 7:15, New Moon at 9:30 and the supremely ass-kicking Eclipse at 12:01 this morning. (Which, if you follow us on Twitter - you were mostly likely very aware of!)

Don't get me wrong - it was awesome and I don't regret it at all. But I could should have treated myself so much better.

I went home an hour early from work to see my boys briefly before meeting FGS back at the office at 5:15. On the way back I stopped by 7-Eleven and grabbed a 1-liter Diet Dr. Pepper for later and a pepperoni stick (protein = healthy, right?). Once I got to the office I had a Vitamin Water (again, healthy-ish, right?). The vodka that may or may not have been in it - not super healthy. But a little here and there isn't horrible for you.

Long story short - over the next 9 hours I consumed the following:
  • A huge movie popcorn (with "only" light butter)
  • The 1 liter Diet Dr. Pepper I got at 7-Eleven with some scrumptious Sailor Jerry in it
  • A package of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
  • A 3 Musketeers
  • A large Sprite (which I actually didn't finish in favor of not peeing my pants)
Combine this with the fact that I did not do my 3 mile run yesterday and I got about three measly hours of sleep - I think you can pretty much guess whether or not I did the 4 miles I was supposed to do today.

The point of my rambling? It's never more apparent to me than after I really treat myself like shit that YOU HAVE TO BE GOOD TO YOURSELF! A special occasion does not give you free reign to do whatever the hell you feel like. Because when you do, the only thing you end up feeling like is crap.

So, I just made plans to spend a weekend with a bunch of girls on a houseboat at lake Shasta in 7 weeks.

Do you realize what that means?!?!?!

An entire weekend spent in a *cringe* bathing suit.

NO more of this bullshit Muffin Top!!!

I'm formulating a detailed eating and training schedule for operation "not look like a nasty giant hippo at the lake". I'll let you know more about it in the next day or two.

For now though, I'm going to go home tonight, have a smoothie for dinner, snuggle with my wonderful little boys, lay on the couch with my sweet hubby, and go to bed super early.

Have a great night all :)

Nut Up, Beyotch!

I've been feeling like a slug all day. Lack of sleep + bad eating decisions = totes whiney FGS this week. This afternoon as I sit at my desk, I've been mentally berating myself. Why in the hells bells did I eat a fucking hamburger for lunch? [With French fries, no less!] What would possess me to have a Mt. Dew with my breakfast? My brain is mush right now, and I have the 4pm munchies like I had a really good last dance with Mary Jane. [And let me assure you, I most certainly DID NOT, or I'd be in a much better mood.] It's like I'm slipping into vacation mode four days pre-vacation, and that's totally ridiculous, because I don't even plan on eating this unhealthy during the actual trip! I've been a blubbering, emo mess all day over this and enough is enough really!

That's what I've been doing all day!

Friends, it's time to nut up. I was thinking maybe I'd just head to bed early tonight since I'm feeling so out of sorts. You know, skip the workout, and just relax. About fifteen minutes ago however, I realized that I'm just not going to freaking do that. That is quitting! That is giving in! That is the behavior of the old me, and I cannot bear to be that person anymore.

It's time to do some damage control. First, I started downing water. I'd realized in my lameness, I haven't even touched the stuff today. I'm plowing down a good 64oz before I head home. Next, I'm going to make a green smoothie for dinner because I assure you, I haven't had anything healthy today whatsoever. Finally, I'm going to pick a work out and do it. Even if it is going to hurt and I don't want to! Sometimes exercise is the only way to get myself back in the correct frame of mind, and I am sorely in need of that right now.

Yep, I could use something like this to get me going...

It's hard for me to admit when I've been having a rough week. It's tough to stop the freight train once it's going full speed ahead, you know? However, that's exactly what I'm doing. At 4:30pm on a Tuesday, I'm saying "No more!", because I'm willing to do whatever it takes.
